USC has released the job description to succeed Dr. Bartner as director of the Spirit of Troy. Qualifications include having at least a master’s and preferably a doctorate in music; strong brass, percussion and woodwind musicianship; and previous success in athletic marching and concert band direction, including teaching, drill writing and music arranging. Applicants are told they must be willing to work late afternoon and weekend assignments. They left out being willing to work New Year’s Day in Pasadena. Know anyone who’s interested?
